(1) (i) Allusions ( संकेत )

अर्थ:  अप्रत्यक्ष संदर्भ

उदहारण :The poem is full of allusions.

(ii) Illusion: (भ्रम , छल )

अर्थ: एक भ्रामक दृश्य

उदहारण:What ails the Industry is to be sorted out?

(2) (i) Ail (बीमार होना)

अर्थ: बीमार होना

उदहारण: I like braised cabbage

(ii) Ale  (शराब)

अर्थ: एक पेय

उदहारण: He has gone to the ale – house.

(3)  (i) Braise

अर्थ: तेल और पानी के साथ पकाना

उदहारण:  I like braised cabbage.

(ii) Brays (चीक, गधे की आवाज )

अर्थ: गधे का भद्दा और जोर से रोना

उदहारण: A donkey is braying.

(4) Canter (कदमताल , हलकी सरपट दौड़ाना)

अर्थ: एक मध्यम सरपट चाल

उदहारण: When a horse canters, it moves at a speed that is slower than a gallop but faster than a trot. 

(ii) Cantor (गायक)

अर्थ: गायक

उदहारण: an official who sings liturgical music and leads prayer in a synagogue.

(5) (i) Eyelet (सूराख)

अर्थ:  पत्ते के लिए छोटे छेद

उदहारण: My shoes have eight eyelets.

(6) Farther (दूर)

अर्थ: अधिक दूर

उदहारण: Delhi is farther from Alwar in a comparison to Jaipur.

(ii) Further (आगे का)

अर्थ: अगला

उदहारण: Please settle the case without any further delay.

(7) (i)  Fain (प्रसन्नतापूर्वक)

अर्थ: ख़ुशी से

उदहारण:  She would fain on seeing me.

(ii) Feign (ढोंग करना)

अर्थ: नाटक

उदहारण: When his boss scolded him, he feigned as a deaf.

(8) (i) Gaff (भाला)

अर्थ: एक कांटेदार भाला

उदहारण: A gaff is a pole with a point or hook at one end, which is used for catching large fish.

(ii) Gaffe (ग़लतफ़हमी , भारी भूल )

अर्थ: एक मूर्ख गलती

उदहारण: He made an embarrassing gaffe at the convention last weekend.

(9) (i) Hammock  (खटोला)

अर्थ:  रस्सी वाला पलंग

उदहारण: A hammock is a piece of strong cloth or netting which is hung between two supports and used as a bed.

(ii) Hummock (छोटी पहाड़ी)

अर्थ: नीची गोल पहाड़ी

उदहारण: A hummock  is a small raised area of ground, like a very small hill.

(10) (i) Hew  (काटना)

अर्थ: कटाई

उदहारण: He fell, peeled and hewed his own timber.

(ii) Hue (रंग)

अर्थ: रंग

उदहारण:  The same hue will look different indifferent light.
